Ultrasonic flowmeter approved for CTAs In custody transfer application (CTA) trading, highly accurate flowmeters are essential when measuring crude oil and oil products. KROHNE's Altosonic V is claimed to be the first ultrasonic flowmeter to be approved for CTAs. Flowmeters must have an accuracy of 0.15% and a 2:1 turndown. Most ultrasonic flowmeters have measurement uncertainty values of ± 0.5% and ±0.1%. The new instrument is a five-beam, multichannel ultrasonic flowmeter.
