It seems like everything I touch lately that has
software in it is going bad. My desktop (PC) performance has
deteriorated so badly that I decided to give it a lobotomy
and reformat the hard disk. Last time I did this, I reloaded
my applications and the machine's performance and reliability
improved nicely. This time I typed the command and nothing
happened. It turned out there was no format.com file on my
Microsoft boot disk. Did they do that just to waste my time
or did they really think they were protecting someone? No
problem. I made a boot disk and proceeded. The process did
not go well this time. With all new copy
