Inherently safer design
The survey concerning inherently safer design
(October 2001, p. 36) has been completed. There were 63
responses from 11 different countries, which included
industrialists, consultants, regulators and academics. Some
findings were that every respondent knew about inherently
safer design (ISD) and its principles have been practiced for
decades. ISD is used in almost all chemical process
development, design and operation stages. Those interested in
obtaining further result information can contact the
authors.
