Bayer MaterialScience AG is opening a toluene diisocyanate (TDI) production facility in Caojing, China. It is scheduled to begin operation in 2009 with a 160,000 tpy capacity. The project is part of a total investment package amounting to $1.8 billion for the Caojing site. The new facility is claimed to be equipped with the latest technology, featuring an innovative energy management concept and boasting resource-conserving production processes. Solvay intends to establish a production facility for fluorine (F2), sulfur hexafluoride (SF6), iodine pentafluoride (IF5) and NOCOLOK in Onsan, South Korea.
