Asia-Pacific distillate prices stabilized somewhat in December along with crude, while product crude price spreads moved in line with historical seasonal patterns, according to an analysis by Energy Security Analysis, Inc. Distillate demand growth in 2006 should begin to recover as a result of a more stable price environment.
"Looking beyond the peak heating season, we expect crude and product prices to moderate," says Paul Bradley, senior analyst at ESAI. "Crude markets are forecast to be well supplied, and global refining capacity is expected to recover to near pre-Katrina production levels."
