APC survey I am offering comments on the "HPIn Control" editorial dialog between my colleagues Dr. Y. Zak Friedman and Dr. Gregory D. Martin about "Solomon Associates' advanced process control survey" (June 2006, pp. 112, 114). I agree with Friedman and Martin that measuring APC benefits is important, but it is not difficult at all if you know how to do it properly.1 – 8 I agree the HPI must find a simpler way to monitor long-term benefit performance that is believable; Clifftent was designed to do this.2, 3, 5 – 9 Martin reports on the limitations of the 1994 SA APC Benchmark Survey that identified APC functions and assigned arbitrary values to each.
