 Liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects are capital intensive! They have a very long period for capital expenditures, which include design, procurement and construction phases, before generating any revenue. LNG projects likewise encounter schedule extensions for many reasons, including environmental sensitivities. For example, the Australian Gorgon project has abundant gas reserves but also has very strict environmental requirements. These conditions have added to the project's schedules and uncertainty.
