On contract engineers Regarding the May 2008 "HPIn Reliability" column: very interesting text, especially from a side that is normally seen as specific equipment related! I'm a project engineer/project manager in a chemical plant and if I look at where we stand in all of this, it looks like we are somewhere in the middle, hopefully on our way to a "tranquil" state. One question, though: What kind of function?/role description would you give a contact engineer? We don't have this kind of role in our plants.
