"Recovery is in sight for the US and global chemical industry," according to the American Chemistry Council's mid-year 2009 outlook. At mid-year, expectations for 2009 are stabilizing; the freefall is over and the end of the recession is within sight. Market indicators show that the pace of decline in production, employment and business has moderated. The "green shoots" of recovery have emerged for the chemical industry.
