A recent HP webinar answered a number of compressor-related questions. This same webinar also generated a few additional ones. A viewer thought that two statements from this presentation were in contradiction, as proven by his correspondence. Question 1 One slide from the webinar used the heading: “Single-shaft multi-impeller technology vs. integrally geared speed-optimized technology.” It was followed by a slide stating that integrally geared technology allows speed, impeller diameter and contour optimizations (3D).
