In September 2014, the Heide refinery in Germany used two weeks of planned downtime at its pyrolysis plant to migrate to new safety systems. The new system emphasized high plant/equipment availability and investment security, while also guaranteeing a smooth changeover. The refinery The Heide refinery is an enterprise of the Klesch Group, and it employs approximately 500 people. The company has a processing capacity of 4.5 MMtpy of crude oil. The refinery was built in 1940, and produces classic mineral oil products, such as automotive gasoline, diesel and jet fuel.
