This month’s installment of Global Project Data focuses on the global petrochemical sector. As shown on the map, the petrochemical sector makes up approximately 35% of total active downstream projects, or just over 700 projects worldwide. Nearly 55% of active petrochemical projects are located in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions. When active petrochemical projects are broken down by activity level, nearly 60% are in the preconstruction phase. The majority of these projects reside in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions. Approximately 55% of petrochemical capacity under construction also lies in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions. HP
