According to Hydrocarbon Processing’s Construction Boxscore Database, more than 320 new downstream capital projects have been announced over the past year.

According to Hydrocarbon Processing’s Construction Boxscore Database, more than 320 new downstream capital projects have been announced over the past year. This total represents a 43% increase in new project announcements year-over-year. With more than 110 new projects announced in 2018, the Asia-Pacific region continues to lead in new downstream capacity builds. China and India are the leaders in new capacity additions. However, additional Asia-Pacific nations are also investing heavily in downstream capacity buildouts, including Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, South Korea and Thailand. Following the Asia-Pacific region in new project announcements are the US and the Middle East. HP
