Bentley Systems opens full access to ProjectWise 365
Bentley Systems Inc. has opened its ProjectWise 365 cloud service, including waiving subscription fees through September 30, 2020, to virtually connect infrastructure project participants forced to work from home.
ProjectWise 365 (FIG. 1) security enables teams to ensure only authorized project participants can access and modify engineering and design projects information. ProjectWise 365 data security begins with the Microsoft Azure cloud that provides multi-layered security across physical datacenters, infrastructure and operations with cybersecurity experts actively monitoring to protect business assets and data. Secure access to the ProjectWise 365 environment is authenticated with Identity Management System (IMS) login that can integrate with organizational IT credentials for a single sign-on experience for users. Within the ProjectWise 365 environment, access to projects is managed by a list of authorized named-users. Permissions to access services as well as read and modify project data is managed by assigning users to configurable project roles. ProjectWise 365 multilayer security combines robust data security and access controls with the ability to collaborate from anywhere using just an internet connection and web browser.
To improve collaboration among design teams from different locations, the program enables instant communication/chatting between team members during design reviews utilizing:
- Secure web browser-based access—All ProjectWise 365 services are instant-on and accessible with just an internet connection and browser, without special software or time-consuming VPN connectivity problems.
- Central project information repository—ProjectWise 365 enables a single source of truth for users to share, find and access design project information, saving time and eliminating the risks associated with email and stand-alone file sharing services.
- Collaborative ad-hoc design review—ProjectWise 365 includes iTwin Design Review, a unique and immersive hybrid 2D/3D collaborative review service that enables design disciplines to quickly initiate real-time reviews of work-in-progress design models, using integrated comments and markup capabilities to facilitate communication.
- Collaborative 2D deliverables review—ProjectWise 365 provides real-time collaborative PDF review and markup that enables multidiscipline teams to perform virtual reviews of drawing deliverables with integrated comments and annotations as well as issue logging and management.
- RFIs, transmittals, and submittals management—ProjectWise 365 enables teams to create, track and manage formal and informal project communications to accelerate important exchanges, resolve issues faster and shorten review and approval cycles.
- Microsoft Teams integration—ProjectWise 365 services can also be accessed from the Microsoft Teams interface to provide an unmatched virtual collaboration environment that consolidates the engineering design-specific services of ProjectWise 365 with the instant messaging, video conferencing and meeting capabilities of Teams.
- Issues management—ProjectWise 365 design review services include the capability to create and assign issues and then manage them to resolution. Issues are linked to the underlying design content for traceability and easy follow up. The combined issues management capabilities ensure that required design updates are identified and executed in timely fashion.
- Audit Trails—ProjectWise 365 displays the most up-to-date version of design files and provides full audit trails that enable users to review change histories by folder and file.
For clients and contractors, the system will reduce risks by providing faster and higher-quality collaboration, reducing delays and design errors, and enabling project teams to consistently deliver on time and on budget. ProjectWise 365 enables organizations and project teams to readily adapt to future stay-at-home workforce challenges and keep projects on plan.
