Shaw renews contract with Albemarle for engineering work at US specialty chemical sites

The Shaw Group said on Wednesday that it renewed a contract with Albemarle to provide maintenance, engineering, construction, reliability, operations and other labor services at Albemarle's specialty chemicals manufacturing locations in Arkansas, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Texas.

Shaw also will provide services to Albemarle's Michigan plant starting in late May, it said.

Shaw's history of executing plant services at Albemarle sites extends back 11 years, it said, starting with maintenance management and reliability engineering.

In 2008, Shaw's contract expanded to include plant engineering, construction and other services to assist Albemarle in improving production while reducing operating costs.

"Albemarle is a valued client that demonstrates the same levels of excellence and commitment to quality and safety as Shaw," said Ron McCall, president of Shaw's plant services division.

The undisclosed value of each three-year contract will be included in Shaw's plant services segment's backlog of unfilled orders in the 2011 third quarter.
