ISU Chemical selects Intergraph for managing technical data at plants
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- Korean petrochemical company ISU Chemical Co., Ltd has selected four Intergraph solutions to optimize the management of technical data quality on its Onsan and Ulsan plant sites.
ISU Chemical will deploy the suite of new technology – Intergraph Smart 3D, SmartPlant P&ID, SmartPlant Review and SmartPlant Enterprise for Owner Operators – in two phases by mid-2018. Phase one will involve laser scanning of the Onsan plant, using the Hexagon Leica ScanStation P30 to produce high-quality 3D “as built” data, as well as piping and instrumentation (P&ID) conversion, 3D modeling and legacy data cleansing. Once this process is complete, the as built data will be loaded into a new SmartPlant-based data management system. Phase two will see this process repeated at the Ulsan plant.
“Intergraph’s solutions will improve the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of our facilities, as all up-to-date engineering data will be accessible and managed through a centralized SmartPlant-based system,” said Dongmin Kim, technical officer at ISU System, the system integrator division of ISU Chemical. “Additionally, we anticipate these solutions will help us to reduce field project work hours through the automatic generation of deliverables.”
