S&B honored with Eagle Award for Energy Transfer’s Lone Star NGL Frac V

Houston, Texas – Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) presented S & B Engineers and Constructors, Ltd. (S & B) with a National Excellence in Construction® Eagle Award in the Mega-Projects – All Projects $100 Million to $200 Million category for Energy Transfer’s Lone Star NGL Frac V project at its Mont Belvieu fractionation facility. This marks the eleventh time S & B has received the award since 1999.

“Since our founding in 1967, S & B’s goal has been to be the best EPC contractor in the business,” said James Brookshire, CEO of S & B. “While we are greatly honored to receive awards such as these, our truest accolades come from our clients, who trust us with their most important projects time and again.”

S & B’s scope for the Lone Star Frac V project was to perform engineering, procurement and construction for a 120,000 barrels per day NGL fractionation unit. Despite a significant setback from Hurricane Harvey in the form of 50 inches of rain at the job site, S & B delivered the project on a compressed schedule and within budget.

Most importantly, the project was delivered safely, with more than 1.5 million work hours delivered without a single Lost Time Incident. The project marked over 10 million safe work hours executed by S & B for the client since 2011.

All of S & B’s project team members, both home office and in the field, were crucial to the successful delivery of the project. The work was executed using S & B’s Managing with Certainty® execution philosophy, including our industry-leading project management system (iPIMS®) and innovative Integrated Project Planning™ toolset.
