Braskem Idesa S.A.P.I., a joint venture of Braskem S.A. and Grupo Idesa S.A. de C.V., has selected LyondellBasell’s Lupotech T process technology for a new 300 kilotons/yr low-density polyethylen..

Braskem Idesa S.A.P.I., a joint venture of Braskem S.A. and Grupo Idesa S.A. de C.V., has selected LyondellBasell’s Lupotech T process technology for a new 300 kilotons/yr low-density polyethylene (LDPE) plant. The plant will be built at the Coatzacoalcos Petrochemical Complex in Veracruz, Mexico, and is scheduled for startup in 2015. Repsol YPF has registered its La Plata refinery industrial project with the United Nations as a Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), reported to be the first of its kind in the world. CDMs, a tool laid out in the Kyoto Protocol, allow development of emissions-reducing projects that favor sustainable development and implementation of clean technologies
