Hydrocarbon Processing’s Construction Boxscore Database is tracking more than 1,700 active downstream construction projects around the world. Over the past three years, the Asia-Pacific region and the US have led in new project announcements. Developing nations in the Asia-Pacific region continue to build downstream processing capacity to meet increasing demand. The US refining industry is investing in new distillation capacity to process additional light shale oil, as well as in secondary units to adhere to new Tier 3 fuel regulations.
