Amor signs process control pact with Aera Energy

Aera Energy, a California-based oil and gas producer, has selected Amor Group to review and enhance the security of its various process control systems, company officials said on Monday.

The deal represents a major breakthrough for the UK-based provider of business technology solutions, according to Amor officials.

Aera Energy’s operations account for approximately 25% of the California’s oil and gas production.

Under the deal, Amor will provide an in-depth review of Aera’s security policy and procedures through its ProcessSecurity+ offering.

The services will be provided by Amor staff based both locally to Aera Energy’s headquarters in Bakersfield, California, and at Amor offices in Houston and in Aberdeen.

“We are delighted with this success in the US market, particularly in a key strategic region like California,” said Craig Swinburn, energy sales director for Amor Group.

“Winning new business with a leading firm like Aera Energy is testament to the talent of the team we have across our global network,” he continued.

“The Californian economy is one of the biggest in the world and this offers us a foothold to gain further business. This deal underlines our expertise in providing services and IT support to the energy and utility sector.”

Other Amor clients in the energy sector include BP and ConocoPhillips.
