INEOS licenses PE, PP technology to petrochemical project of Russia's Rosneft

INEOS Technologies will license its Innovene polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) technologies to Rosneft subsidiary VNHK, officials confirmed on Friday.

VNHK is building a petrochemical complex at Nakhodka in Russia’s eastern Primorsky region.

All VNHK units will incorporate INEOS’ polymer technology advances and will ensure a competitive advantage for petrochemical complex customers in both domestic and global markets, the companies said.

Engineering work is now underway.

“We are delighted that ROSNEFT’s subsidiary, one of the world’s leading oil and gas companies - following the results of bidding - has selected INEOS as for execution of Nakhodka petrochemical complex project,” said Peter Williams, CEO of INEOS Technologies.

“The combination of broad product coverage and excellent operability of the dual PE and PP platforms meets the requirements of both existing and future markets fully.”

This marks the second time that Rosneft has chosen INEOS Technologies for a new project. In 2010, Rosneft licensed the Innovene 'S' technology for its JSC Angarsk polymer plant in Angarsk.

Details on the specific Innovene technologies can be found at the INEOS website by clicking here.
