Iracore to supply lined pipe, fittings to Shell Canada for Alberta oil sands use

Iracore International completed a long-term agreement with Shell Canada for the supply of lined pipe and fittings for use in the Alberta oil sands, the companies said on Friday.

The agreement covers a three-year period and provides Shell access to a number of Iracore’s proprietary products and services for use at the Muskeg River and Jackpine oil sands mining projects.

“This is a significant milestone and validates Iracore as the premium supplier of lined pipe for the oil sands,” said Rick Brouwer, CEO of Iracore.

“We look forward to working closely with Shell to meet their very specific needs over the next three years and well into the future.”

Iracore has provided lined pipe solutions to major oil sands mine developers in northern Alberta for more than a decade, the company said, noting that it has worked at developing and testing its proprietary urethanes and manufacturing processes to meet the severe operating conditions.

Iracore says it has since forged relationships with all existing oil sands mining operators.

Three of the four mines in Ft. McMurray currently have agreements in place for the supply of Iracore lined products, according to the company.
