Executives with Italian refiner Saras and Russian state-controlled oil company OAO Rosneft met in Rome this past weekend to discuss opportunities for cooperation.
According to a Rosneft press statement released Tuesday, its president Igor Sechin met Saras chairman Gian Marco Moratti and CEO Massimo Moratti and agreed to form a working group that will review joint commercial opportunities.
The arrangement could include crude oil supply to the Sarroch refinery in Sardinia, but will not be limited to that, the statement says.
No timetable for a potential decision was given.
