British engineering company Amec is eyeing a takeover bid for US-based Foster Wheeeler, The Times reported on Wednesday, citing anonymous sources.
The potential deal could create an overall energy services group worth $8 billion.
The Times reported that Amec has appointed Goldman Sachs to advise it on a potential deal.
Neither company had immediate comment, though Amec said in August 2013 that it was considering oil and gas acquisitions.
