Technip was awarded a contract by CTCI Corp. to provide basic engineering and proprietary equipment for a grassroots ethylene cracking furnace at the Saudi Kayan petrochemical complex in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Co. is an affiliate of SABIC.
CTCI is providing the engineering, procurement and construction of the new furnace.
The furnace design will be based on Technip’s proprietary USC furnace technology. Technip was awarded this project for its best proposal and because of its high-capacity, high-availability gas cracking applications.
Technip's operating center in Milton Keynes, UK will execute the project, which is scheduled for completion in 2017.
