Petroleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA) refuted the statements attributed to the People's Minister of Petroleum and President of PDVSA Eulogio Del Pino with regard to the non-renewal of the contract between the PDVSA and the sister nation of Curacao. Some media have manipulated this information.

"The commitment and operational continuity in Isla Refinery is part of the strategy of our company in the short, medium, and long term", said Del Pino reflecting PDVSA’s official position.

"It is still too early to start negotiations to extend the relationship between Curacao and PDVSA, but tradition tells us that since 1985 both parties have not only kept current the contractual relationship but also strengthened the unity between our peoples”, said the minister.

PDVSA operates the Isla refinery with high levels of technical efficiency. It is a valuable asset for the people of Curacao which has a positive impact on its economy and strengthens the bonds between the two Caribbean nations.
