Amec Foster Wheeler to provide FEED for Singapore refinery upgrade

Amec Foster Wheeler has been awarded a contract by Singapore Refining Co. (SRC), a JV between Singapore Petroleum Company and Chevron, to undertake front end engineering and design (FEED) and detailed engineering services to upgrade its Jurong Island refinery. The upgrade will be increase crude and vacuum heater efficiency which includes revamping burners, air preheater and a common new chimney stack.

The scope of the contract will include a hazard and operability study (HAZOP) and constructability studies. An engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) schedule will also be developed.

SRC’s Jurong refinery in Singapore has a processing capacity of 290 Mbpd of crude oil and produces mainly fuel products distributed both to domestic and overseas markets.
