S.Korea's GS Caltex buys Russian Urals crude for first time

SEOUL (Reuters) -- GS Caltex, South Korea's second-largest refiner, has bought Russian Urals crude for the first time, a company spokesman said on Monday.

GS Caltex purchased 700,000 bbl of the Urals crude for June arrival, the company spokesman.

"We bought the Russian crude on spot as it has become more economical and as a way to diversify our crude supplies," the spokesman said.

The refiner will also receive 500,000 barrels of US Eagle Ford crude in June, the spokesman said.
