Dynea announces successful commissioning & start-up of new Formaldehyde Plant

Norway – Dynea AS (Dynea) announced the successful completion of the Performance guarantee run and commencement of commercial operations for its latest Silver Formaldehyde Plant FASIL® license to SAMAC - a JV between SABIC and Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation.

The plant located on the Ibn Sina site in Jubail, KSA is capable of producing 105.000 metric-ton annual capacity (calculated as formaldehyde 100% per weight) and will deliver 55% formaldehyde solution for the manufacturing of MMA.

The MMA plant, operated by SAMAC, has a 250.000 metric-ton annual capacity and is using the world class Lucite International’s Alpha MMA Technology.

The MMA plant operated by SAMAC has a 250.000 metric-ton annual capacity and is using the world-class Lucite International’s Alpha MMA Technology. Lucite is owned by Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation. The proven FASIL® silver technology which has the lowest total operational cost and regarded as the safest way of producing formaldehyde licensed by Dynea has already been successfully installed at more than 40 plants worldwide.
