Hitachi secures order for additional centrifugal compressors for Aster Chemicals and Energy's ethylene export expansion project
Hitachi Industrial Products Ltd. has received an order to supply an additional centrifugal compressor for Aster Chemicals and Energy Pte. Ltd.’s existing facility on Pulau Bukom in Singapore through Hitachi Asia Ltd.
This project is a part of Aster's initiative to double its ethylene export capacity and strengthen Singapore's role as an energy and petrochemical hub in Southeast Asia.
Aster was established early this year following its acquisition of Shell's Energy and Chemicals Park in Singapore. This project will enable Aster to strengthen regional supply network and demand for ethylene. In addition to enhancing ethylene export capabilities, this project will also deepen synergy between Aster Bukom in Singapore and the Chandra Asri Group's cracker facility on Cilegon in Indonesia – unlocking further integration and optimization across the regional C2 derivatives value chain.
Hitachi has provided many centrifugal compressors to the Bukom facility. Building on the trust established through maintenance of existing equipment, the company proposed an optimal compressor solution and project execution plan that prioritizes reliability and supports Aster's goal of early plant startup.
