Vietnam's largest refinery, Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical LLC, said on Wednesday that it had secured sufficient crude oil for uninterrupted operations through to the end of May.
- The closure of the Strait of Hormuz temporarily affected deliveries of crude oil to the refinery earlier this month, but the company "successfully arranged alternative feedstock," NSRP said in a statement.
- NSRP said it will continue to pursue additional crude and feedstock sourcing to enable higher run rates, without elaborating further.
- The 200,000-bpd refinery processes crude oil sourced almost entirely from Kuwait.
- In January it processed the first batch of non-Kuwaiti crude oil.
- The refinery is 35.1% owned by Japan's Idemitsu Kosan Co, 35.1% by Kuwait Petroleum, 25.1% by Vietnam's state oil firm Petrovietnam and 4.7% by Mitsui Chemicals Inc.
