Downs, J.
is an engineering fellow and manager of the Advanced Controls Technology group at Eastman Chemical Co. He has 33 years of experience in the design, startup and support of industrial processes. His research interests include plantwide control strategy design, plantwide process optimization and the process design/process control interface. Dr. Downs was recognized by the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, which honored him with a CAST Computing Practice Award in 1996 for his contribution to the profession.
