HollyFrontier expects Tulsa refinery repairs to take six-to-eight weeks

By ROSE MARTON-VITALE

HollyFrontier Corp. on Wednesday said it will take between six to eight weeks to complete repairs to the fire-struck hydrotreater unit at its oil refinery in Tulsa, Okla.

Crude oil throughput at the 125,000 bpd refinery will be reduced by 30,000 to 40,000 bpd throughout the repair time, a company executive said during a second-quarter earnings conference call.

The diesel hydrotreater unit, a unit that removes contaminants from the diesel stream, was shut on Aug. 2 after an early morning fire.

The unit is located in the East Tulsa complex of the plant.

HollyFrontier has two refineries in Tulsa. They are less than two miles apart and are operated as an integrated facility through interconnecting pipelines.
