Chlorine Institute forms new partnership on safety, technical materials

IHS announced a new partnership agreement with The Chlorine Institute (CI), adding CI’s safety and technical publications to be accessible globally via IHS content platforms, project officials said Tuesday.

CI is the technical trade association of companies involved in the safe production, distribution and use of chlorine, sodium and potassium hydroxides and sodium hypochlorite, and the distribution and use of hydrogen chloride.

Under the partnership, CI content covering the areas of safe production, handling and packaging, health and the environment, emergency planning and response and properties of chemicals and analytical techniques can be accessed as part of a collection of more than 100 million technical documents covering engineering standards and related industry and technical knowledge.

The groups say the integration of CI content with IHS will promote safety stewardship, accelerate research and knowledge discovery and eliminate the need for chlor-alkali industry professionals and their customers to search across multiple data sources and systems with multiple logins.

“CI’s partnership with IHS enhances our ability to promote safety stewardship throughout the chlor-alkali industry, and among those who use, transport and handle our products," said Frank Reiner, president of The Chlorine Institute.
