Canada is the largest energy trading partner of the United States. Based on the latest annual data from the US Census Bureau, energy accounted for about 5% of the value of all US exports to Canada and more than 19% of the value of all US imports from Canada in 2016.

OxyChem, Mexichem announce startup of JV ethylene cracker in Texas
INGLESIDE, Texas — Ingleside Ethylene, LLC, the 50/50 JV between Occidental Chemical Corporation, a subsidiary of Occidental Petroleum Corporation, and Mexichem, S.A.B. de C.V., announced that its ethylene cracker at OxyChem’s Ingleside, Texas, complex began operations on schedule and on budget. The ethylene cracker is currently in a production stabilization phase.
RFA, Department of Commerce host program to match US ethanol sellers, international buyers
SAN DIEGO — For the second consecutive year, the Renewable Fuels Association is partnering with the US Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration to host an International Buyer Program (IBP) at the National Ethanol Conference.
