State prosecutors urge Trump not to withdraw from Paris accord
NEW YORK (Reuters) -- More than a dozen state prosecutors urged President Donald Trump in a letter on Tuesday not to withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement, which commits the United States, along with 200 other countries, to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions in an attempt to slow global warming.

Utah establishes gasoline and diesel refinery exemption
DALLAS -- Utah Governor Gary Herbert signed Senate Bill 197—effective Jan. 1, 2018—establishing an exemption for the purchase or lease of machinery, equipment, normal operating repair or replacement parts, catalysts, chemicals, reagents, solutions or supplies used or consumed by a refiner who owns, leases, operates, controls or supervises a refinery used to produce gasoline or diesel fuel.
EIA: US energy-related CO2 emissions fell 1.7% in 2016
US energy-related carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in 2016 totaled 5,170 MMmt, 1.7% below their 2015 levels, after dropping 2.7% between 2014 and 2015. These recent decreases are consistent with a decade-long trend, with energy-related CO2 emissions 14% below the 2005 level in 2016.
