Sasol plans gas-to-liquids project in Uzbekistan
South African energy and chemicals group Sasol signed an investment agreement with the Uzbekistan government to develop a gas-to-liquids (GTL) project in Uzbekistan. The agreement was completed with project partners Uzbekneftegaz and PETRONAS, according to Sasol officials.
Linde expands nitrogen, oxygen plant in Oregon
US-based gases firm Linde has expanded the capacity of its plant in Hillsboro, Oregon, to supply ultra-high purity (UHP) gaseous nitrogen and oxygen to semiconductor manufacturers in the Pacific Northwest.
Chevron inks sales deal from Australia LNG project
Chevron said it signed a sale and purchase agreement with Kyushu Electric Power Co. for the delivery of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the Wheatstone project in Western Australia. Under the binding agreement, Chevron, together with Apache and Kufpec, will deliver up to 700,000 tpy of LNG to Kyushu Electric for up to 20 years.

Praxair has reached a 15-year agreement to supply nitrogen and hydrogen to Guardian Industries’ new float glass facility in Rostov, a growing industrial region in southern Russia.
GE sees rising gas turbine sales in North America
GE has received more than $1 billion in orders for heavy duty and aeroderivative gas turbines for projects throughout North America in 2011, underscoring a growing trend to use abundant, cleaner-burning natural gas for power generation. That figure is up more than 10% from 2010, the company said.
Sasol plans gas-to-liquids complex in Louisiana
South Africa-based energy and chemicals group Sasol will execute a feasibility study on a proposed gas-to-liquids (GTL) facility in southwest Louisiana. The project is slated to be the first plant in the US to produce GTL transportation fuels and other products, the company said.
Air Products expands Korea nitrogen fluoride plant
Air Products is more than doubling its nitrogen trifluoride (NF3) capacity at its production facility in Ulsan, Korea. The new capacity is expected to be onstream in the second half of 2012.
Enbridge to twin its Canada oil sands pipeline
Enbridge will twin the southern section of its Athabasca Pipeline from Kirby Lake, Alberta, to the crude oil hub in Hardisty, Alberta, at an estimated cost of approximately $1.2 billion. The twin line will initially add approximately 450,000 bpd of capacity between these points, with low-cost expansion potential to 800,000 bpd, the company said.
Air Products to supply gases for INEOS Bio plant
Air Products has been awarded a contract to supply onsite oxygen, compressed dry air, and nitrogen to INEOS Bio's joint venture project for a waste-to-ethanol facility in Vero Beach, Florida.
