Cynar picks Rockwell Automation to design, build UK waste-to-fuel plant
Waste-to-energy technology company Cynar has awarded an $11 million contract to Rockwell Automation to design and build a new end-of-life, plastic-to-fuel conversion plant in Bristol, UK. Cynar says it has developed a technology that converts end-of-life plastics into fuel.
Technip awarded top Europe employer certification
Technip was awarded this week with the Top Employer Europe 2012 certifification. To get certification, organizations were required to be successfully achieving the criteria set in a minimum of five European countries. Technip said it was successfully certified as a Top Employer in nine countries.
Toyo, ENPPI win deal to build Egypt ethylene plant, butadiene extraction unit
A consortium of Toyo Engineering and Egypt’s state-run ENPPI has won a $600 million contract to build a 460,000 tpy ethylene plant and a 20,000 tpy butadiene extraction plant as part of Ethydco's petrochemical complex to be established in Alexandria, Egypt. The plant is scheduled for start-up in early 2015.
Jacobs wins design, equipment deal in Canada for new sulfuric acid plant
Jacobs won a contract from Teck Metals to design and supply a new sulfuric acid plant for its Trail operation located in British Columbia. The deal includes the design of the complete sulfuric acid plant contact section, including catalytic DeNO(x) system, as well as supply of all equipment and majority of materials.
Honeywell forms partnership with Magnetrol for terminal safety products
Honeywell signed an agreement with Magnetrol International, a supplier of level and flow measurement equipment, to enhance its terminal market product portfolio with Magnetrol’s expertise in safety and compliance. Enhanced instruments will be available for purchase from March 2012.
Malaysia's Petronas picks Technip for FEED work on refinery, petrochemical project
Technip has been awarded a front-end engineering design (FEED) contract by PETRONAS for its proposed refinery and petrochemical integrated development (RAPID) project located in the state of Johor, Malaysia. The contract is scheduled for completion in the second half of 2013.
Foster Wheeler wins design deal for LNG terminal in Dominican Republic
Foster Wheeler has been awarded the basic design and front-end engineering design contract by Complejo GNL del Este for a new LNG receiving terminal and jetty to be built in San Pedro de Marcorís in the Dominican Republic. The undisclosed value will be included in the company’s first-quarter 2012 results.
Russia refiner taps Foster Wheeler for fired heater
Foster Wheeler has been awarded a contract by CJSC Antipinsky Refinery for the engineering and material supply of a new fired heater and air preheating system for the Antipinsky refinery in Tyumen. Foster Wheeler’s scope of work is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2012.

Metso has acquired South Korean globe valve technology and service company Valstone Control, officials confirmed on Thursday. Valstone has an established customer base in Korean engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) companies and in the domestic South Korean petrochemical industry.
Dow Chemical picks Fluor as global EPC contractor for capital projects
Fluor announced Thursday that it and Dow Chemical signed a strategic global engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) and construction management agreement in support of Dow’s global capital projects program ranging across all products. The initial deal is for three years with an extension option.
