Dutta, H.
Hirak Dutta has more than 37 years of experience in process design and engineering, operations, troubleshooting, safety and project management, and human resource management at various refineries for Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL). In the initial stage of his career, he commissioned the Mathura refinery, and was technical head of IOCL’s Haldia refinery. Between 2011 and 2015, Mr. Hirak was Executive Director of the Oil Industry Safety Directorate (OISD) under India’s Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. Mr. Hirak has authored several papers in the area of technical and safety management, is a regular participant at technical, process safety and behavioral functions and has presented papers at several prestigious national and international conferences. Since November 2015, Mr. Hirak has been working at Essar Oil Ltd. as an advisor. He is a chemical engineer by profession.
