USW members vote to reject bp's ‘final’ offer to Whiting refinery workers
The U.S. United SteelWorkers (USW) union members voted on Thursday to overwhelmingly reject what energy giant bp called its "last, best, and final" contract proposal to those working at its Whiting refinery in Indiana (U.S.).
Update: Union agrees to U.S. refineries contract, averting nationwide strike
The agreement was negotiated between the union and leading U.S. refiner Marathon Petroleum on behalf of the refiners and chemical producers.
